Yeah I noticed that but my problem with that is Datacenter space... A few
inches makes a difference & I don't see that you get much by going with 23"
except more room to route cables...

Just an FYI, 19 inch racks are an industry standard in Telecommunications
for many decades.  When people invented computer stuff a few decades later,
they frequently also went into 19 inch racks.  More and more however that is
migrating to 23 inch racks.
