BOYA!!! I finally tracked down this little terd. Here is the deal. When a
users logs in that has PRINTERS installed locally, it takes forever for the
application to load. This is not a profile issue or a domain issue as I
have stated before. I know for a fact that this is a printers issue. I had
a user running at 8 seconds, then I added a fake printer onto their local
machine. It then took about a minute and a half to load the application.
When they exit it takes another minute or so for the Citrix session to
disconnect. This is printer related. Here I'll remove the printer again
and see what happens to logons and logoffs...
...oh yeah! 8 seconds again. What is up with printers causing a long
logon? (and logoff)

i will attack modprof in a little bit right now let's deal with the long
logons. I am now using the uphclean service and it has gotten rid of my
userenv errors. Still the long logons remain. What I have done right now
is I built a new machine didn't add it into the domain and it logs on in
seconds. I then took the next step and added it to the domain, only takes a
few seconds to logon. I'm about to take this same machine and do it under a
differnet username, one that has a huge profile to see if the error still
exists. I will post in a little bit.

Yup, have used it for a number of years without issue, and before that,
the earlier versions.
I note you'll always get the recommendations for commercial products to
do this, and all I would say is - if that's worth it for you as an
individual / company - then fine and dandy, but there is no technical
reason why the MS tools won't do the job.

Believe me, there's no reason why modprof doesn't, or shouldn't work.
I've been using it (and it's predecessors) for years to dynamically
create outlook profiles for Citrix / terminal server users, that have
mandatory profiles.

Sounds a bit odd - you could always do the userenv debugging thing to
get a more detailed picture of what's happening during login. I take it
there's nothing odd in the event log?
