[windows2000] Problem with scheduled ntbackup job

Morning all,

I have a Windows 2003 server that runs Exchange 2003. I'm using a scheduled batch file to initiate a backup of the entire server, including the email stores.

This has been running fine, but in recent days its been giving me trouble.

The past few mornings I've arrived to see that the window for the batch file is sitting on the screen displaying the command to start the backup, but the backup hasn't taken place. In Task Manager I can see an instance of ntbackup.exe running but it doesn't appear to be doing anything.

If I kill the ntbackup process and the batch file I can manually run the scheduled task and it kicks the backup off as requested.

Any ideas as to why this is no longer going through on its own?

Regards,

Rob
