[windows2000] Outlook 2003 chokes on Sharepoint v3 alerts

Hi all,
Would anybody have any idea why Outlook 2003 chokes whenever I open up a
(html) mail sent from Windows Sharepoint Services v3 Alerting feature?
I find this weird. Any ideas appreciated.
