I've got one server (dual-3Ghz Xeons) running VMware ESX that I use for low use servers like Wyse Rapport, MS WSUS, Citrix development/practice server, etc. It's great and has saved us some bucks! Hopefully next year, I'll be able to step up to a blade-server environment and add the VMotion for a more robust environment. I will definately be looking into Xen, and I absolutely _LOVE_ the VMWare Virtual Appliances - they make looking for a working appliance/application SOOOOOO easy! http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/ -George PS - Jim K. has a virtualize email-list here too (low volume).
Just curious…
How many of you are now using either server virtualization or storage virtualization (or both)?
If you are using it, what benefits have you seen?
If not, do you plan to use it anytime soon?
Again, just curious.
TIA
Ron
