Because of the _features_ which I freely admit are very impressive, that
doesn't stop it from being a piece of junk from a security perspective.

Because MS sold their product for cut rate prices until they gained
dominant market share, not to mention tweaking the OS in their favor and
against Lotus. There used to be saying at MS that DOS wasn't done until
Lotus didn't run.
