Hi list,

Although this doesn't really matter, I'm wondering if anyone can figure this
out.

From a W2K machine, I try to view the netbios table of an XP Pro machine by
entering:

nbtstat -a RAY

"Host not found." is the response.

* If I nbtstat it by IP address, that works fine.
*       It's not a "a" vs. "A" issue.
* Both the W2K and XP machines allow netbios over tcp/ip.
* Neither machine is running a firewall (including the built-in XP
one).
* I have a WINS server on my network, and both machine are set to use
it.
* I can nbtstat the other machines in my domain by name from the W2K
machine without problem.
* I can nbtstat the other machines in my domain by name from the XP
machine without problem.
* nbtstat'ing the FQDN gives the same result.
* I can resolve the host, RAY, by its WINS name and FQDN DNS name on
the W2K machine fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
