They should already be able to control their own file permission if they're using NT/2k/XP workstations. To do that you just need to give them proper access to start off with and they'll be able to modify them from their desktops. As for adding/removing users from a group thats more difficult with NT. I can't think of anything off the top of my head other than moving to AD. :) -Aaron ----------------------- Aaron Dokey - MIS Reid Tool Supply 2265 Black Creek Rd. I need to be able to allow this department to control their own file permissions, but I need a user-friendly way for them to do it. -----Original Message----- From: Richards, Brian [mailto:brichard@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 10:04 AM To: 'windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [windows2000] Re: NT Administration Utility I don't know about the "user-friendly" requirement, but that is one of Active Directory's major claim's to fame. Are you using Windows NT or Windows 2000 for your server OS? ******************************************** Brian D. Is there a program/utility out there that is user-friendly that allows Domain Admins to "delegate" what kind administrative privileges they can give to average users? Please respond quickly, as I have a meeting with this department tomorrow morning.
