It is now working!! I ran gpupdate on one of the problem PC's and rebooted and the logon script worked and network drives could be accessed. Went to another problem PC logged on and it worked without any changes. All other problem PC's then worked without having to do any changes. Strange! Hi Guys, Over the weekend I made a ghost image of our Windows 2000 SP3 domain controller / file server, upgraded the disks, then restored the ghost image back on to the new disks. Until this morning I thought the process had been 100% successful, however now most of our Windows XP PC's are having problems. The logon script which just maps a number of drives just hangs, and if the user tries to use any network resources on the file server the PC hangs. Other network operations not involving the file server - like email - do work. If I logon a user to a XP machine that has never logged onto the PC before it hangs at "Applying Computer Settings". Our Windows 98 PC's are not affected. I have removed the PC's out of the domain and into a workgroup, removed the PC from AD, then readded to the domain. The operation was successful however it doesn't fix the problem. The server event log shows no errors. Any ideas, would be gratefully received as I am completely stumped on this one.
