[windows2000] GPO Software Deployment

I'm having a problem deploying software to specific machines. I'm assigning
the GPO to an OU. After rebooting the server, I get a message on the
startup screen stating that it's applying settings of the GPO, but it goes
away much too fast for the software to have actually installed. After
logging in, the package has not been installed. Any suggestions?
