I actually meant why windows can't remove the profile when the user
logs off and the GPO is set to "remove profile when user logs off".
Taking ownership doesn not help.

Anyway, I've tried to remove the lef-over folders manually. And I
can't, even when logged in as a domain admin. I can only remove the
left-over folder if I forst reboot the computer in question with
the left-over (and partial) profile.

Clearer now? 8-)
