What's the event id it reports ?

DHCPLoc was the one I tried - comes up with a socket error then quits :(

NetSh shows just the one machine running DHCP, the one thats meant to be!

In fact, just looking at the eventlog.. its exactly one hour after its
started that it shuts down again?!
