Does the machine have more than one nic and if so, is it possible it thinks it's the other machine ??? I know it's a while back now but we did see something similar with an NT4 server several years ago !!! Mark -----Original Message----- From: Dogers [mailto:dogers@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: 01 November 2004 13:28 To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] DHCP Server Problems I'm fighting a losing battle with our DHCP server on a Win2k3 box, in trying to keep the damn thing up! Every so often it shuts down, leaving a message in the eventlog saying it found another DHCP server on its own IP address. When the servers down, clients cant get addresses, and theres nothing running on port 68, so theres clearly no other DHCP server running! Any ideas on what I can do, or check for? EventID.net says that sometimes theres a problem with the RRAS service on 2003, but that service is disabled here, we dont use it! The only thought I've had so far is to see if it will accept running a program when it shuts down. Its recovery settings are set to automatically restart, so im not hopeful! :( Andrew ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor StressedPuppy.com Games Feeling stressed out?
