I only asked because administration can be separated based on Organizational
Units and unless basic domain user policies need to be different, you can
have them all in one domain.
BUT since this is a college lab and a college administration, I would make
them as separate as I could.
2 domains off a root domain sounds good.

Likely to need different domain policies for the locations. One is our
college lab environment and the other is our administrative area. I suppose
some administration would be separate as well.
