strange problem

Hi all,
I have a strange problem with winamp, I am using version 5.03A and when I
try to fast forward threw a file by holding down the right errow key.
it makes the fast forwarding sound and the clips and pops but when I stop
it's basicly in the same place.
anyone else had this problem?
