If this comes across rude, please don't take it that way but, I hate to break in on this little conversation. I've been using Winamp since version 2.95 and that was years ago. I also was using JFW at the time. It is easy to use with screen readers if you set it up correctly. I now use Window eyes as my primary screen reader. I can also use NVDA, or system access if necessary.

I remember specifically, when I first installed the program, the very first window that came up was a drop-down menu, asking me if I wanted the current or classic. That's really all it said. I assumed that they were refering to the skins, so I arrowed down to classic, and pressed next. I've heard from previous audio tutorials about Winamp being more accessible if you use the classic skins. If you press alt, or try to navigate with the numpad arrows, the screen reader doesn't appear to say anything. I don't know, but it just seems that Winamp is supposed to be easy to use, but for some reason, it isn't. At least not for those of us using screen readers. -----Original Message----- From: Arlene <nedster66@xxxxxxxxx> To: winamp4theblind <winamp4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Mon, Feb 25, 2013 7:51 pm Subject: RE: creating playlists and using the media library in Winamp 5.63 You know, I found that same problem with me. I wonder if these versions of winamp have changed? What version of windows are you running? I'm running windows 7. I thought because it's 7 it's different. -----Original Message----- From: winamp4theblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:winamp4theblind-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mike Bernard Sent: February-24-13 5:09 PM To: winamp4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: creating playlists and using the media library in Winamp 5.63 Good evening everyone: Is there anyone on the list, using Winamp version 5.63? If so, could you tell me how to create a playlist in this version of Winamp? When I open Winamp, I control tab to the playlist editor, and then press L. When I do this, a dialogue box pops up, asking me to insert and/or select a file. The only controls in this dialogue, are the combo edit box, the files of type drop-down menu, followed by an open button and a cancel button and finally, the look in drop-down menu. I shift-tabbed, into a list view, which was the folder where my files were, and navigated to the file I wanted to add. After finding it, I tabbed until I got to the open button, and pressed enter on it. This caused the dialogue to close and I was placed back in the playlist editor. However, when I arrowed up and down to see if my selected file was inserted, it did not appear to be there. The above steps I performed, apparently did nothing. Also, I read in an article I found online containing a list of Winamp shortcut keys, which says, that you can gain access to the media library by pressing alt plus L. I tried this, but that doesn't do anything either. How do I access the media library? Thanks. Mike Rochester, NY. To post a message to the list, send it to winamp4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx.
