Well, I have never used the disk writer plug-in to rip avi audio, but when
converting other audio files--namely mp3 to wave in the old days before
burning software could do this automatically, I would simply keep reading
the title bar of Winamp. With JAWS and I believe Window-Eyes as well, while
the conversion is underway, you will hear the title bar read as follows: "1.
file name.mp3 - Winamp" When it is done, you will hear the title bar read
as follows: "1. file name.mp3 - Winamp (stopped).
I would imagine that ripping AVI files might produce the same results.

but how do i know winamp has finnish converting the file?
when you use the disc writer plugin winamp does not play so you don't know
how far the proces is.
and if you break the operation to fast you will only have half of the file
converted
