Sam was terrible with Vista and probably is with Windows 7. She really
may
have to stay with Edcast.

Hi folks. I have a stumper for you, well, at least for me it is
since I'm one of the holdouts, and am still running in good ole
reliable xp home. I have a friend who wants to broadcast using the
Sam Encoders plugin from Spacial Audio. She's running the latest
Winamp, 5.572 and the Sam Encoders DSP plugin. She's using
Window-eyes 7.2 beta 1 for her screenreader. For whatever strange
reason none of us can figure out, when she launches the Sam Encoders
plugin to start broadcasting, either 1 of 2 things happens. She can
either get the window with the necessary list of plugins to come up,
but it won't connect to the necessary server, or even more often,
Winamp throws up an error message, saying its encountered a problem
and needs to close, you know, the usual. The funny thing is, she can
get on the air and broadcast just fine using the latest Edcast
plugin, but the titles of her songs will not stream, and we can't
figure out why. Have any of you guys experienced this, and if so,
what'd you do to fix it? We've done absolutely everything we can
think of. Uninstalled and re-installed Winamp, added and deleted all
the plugins, we've done absolutely everything we can think of, yet
the problems still persist. Could it be the fact that she's using
win 7 64 bit and the drivers aren't getting along with Winamp, or
something else similar? Bottom line is, she'd like to know how to
fix it, but like I say I'm still running xp. I've asked if it would
be posible for her to go back to a different version of Windows, and
she'd rather not do that which I can completely understand. If
anyone has any ideas, I'd be greatful and will pass them on!
This is driving both of us crazy. Not a long trip for me
eh? Anyways, any ideas, thoughts, suggestions are welcome!
