Hi Chris, Well, if you could get a plug-in that worked with Winamp and that was accessible, you could use all Winamp's neat features such as jump to time, single hotkey navigation and control, ETC. to move through your DVD. I have used Power Player--which contrary to popular belief does in fact work with Winamp version 5.X, but it is totally inaccessible. According to a sighted person, the Winamp features are available with this plug-in, but they are all clickable icons and the keystrokes do not work with it. It does give yu a full screen functionality and the video is quite good. When you bring up the video/DVD, press alt + enter and when they see the full screen, the sighted folk will go wild. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Skarstad" <toonhead5@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <winamp4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, December 28, 2005 11:58 PM Subject: Re: WinAmp and DVD ok guys, i'm not sure, maybe one of you can explain it to me? What would be the advantage of using Winamp to play your dvds as opposed to other software? It sounds to me like with a lot of these plugins, you have to have other dvd software installed on your system first, which the plugin accesses and just transfers over to Winamp. Now if it was me, I would say just use that other dvd software, since it's already installed, and most, if not all of us are just listening to the audio on the dvd and i'm sure other software would do the job just fine. But hey if there's a plugin out there that doesn't require another piece of software to be installed first, and itworks with screenreaders, I'd be interested to know.
