Problem playing internet streams with Winamp

Hello all,
Using Winamp 5.56, I know how to connect to an internet stream, but it's
timing out. It's an MP3 stream. Does anyone know how I can solve this
problem? I looked in preferences but am unsure of what to check for. I'm not
connected through a proxy, and I can play local files with no problems.
Please advise. Thanks.
