I'll likely forget how to do this in a couple of months so have changed the
subject line so I can find your good info when I am likely to need it again.

Hi. Here's how you do it.

1. Go to your preferences.

2. press your home key to take you to the top of the tree view, you should
hear, Winamp pro.

3. Arrow down once, you should hear, general preferences opened, 12 items.
Window-eyes users, you may hear something slightly similar but as long as
you hear general preferences, you're ok.

4. Press your tab key once to get past the close button, and then press
your tab key 8 times. You should then land on a checkbox that says check
for new versions of Winamp at startup. If it's checked, uncheck it and
then tab to the close button and press the space bar. There you are.
