Computer Sluggish When Using Winamp

I have only started noticing this recently. But when I'm running Winamp,
then using Telnet to access the Net via a shell, the computer is
super-sluggish. Anyone have a clue why? I'm running JFW 5.1, Windows XP
Service Pack 2, Winamp 5.05, and I am using a 2.8 GHz computer with a gig
of Ram.
