Thanks,

So in summary the CD will require a 4 GB partition and as long as it is the
first 7.8 GB of the disk everything is fine. But if I wanted I could take
Partition Magic after the install and increase the 4 GB partition to no more
than 7.8 BG.

Sean -

It was explained to me this way...Lets say you had a 12gig drive. You made
1-8gig and 1-4gig partition. You stuck in your cd, installed NT4 on the 2nd
partition, The 4gigger and whola! NT will not boot. All NT system files have
to reside on the first 7.8gigs of the drive or it will not work. Some OEM
(Compaq) allow you to make a 7.8 gig boot partition. Unfortunately, some
sort of Microsoftism.

Good Morning Everyone,

Sorry to bring this up but I thought that NT was limited to a 4GB
system/boot partition. Q224525 and Q114841 state that the boot partition
must be entirely within the first 7.8 GB of the drive. Whenever I install
NT 4.0 I am clearly limited to 4 GB. Did I miss something over the
years????
