Your statement seems to imply that the number of workforce investment
areas dictates the number of members on the state board. What does that
have to do with the size of the state board? We have 23 local workforce
investment areas and 39 on our state board.

I have been asked to look at legislation to reduce the size of
our state board. I have tried working it a lot of ways, but with 3
service areas in our state, 49 is about as small as I can get it. Is
everyone's state board approximately that size or are there ways to
shrink it that I am overlooking?
