There has been concern expressed by Ohio's Unemployment Compensation program personnel, who recently reviewed the contract, that the current failure to fund NASWA puts the security of Ohio data at risk since there is no one policing the nationwide system for potential breaches, and that this may also cause overly-protective states to quit sharing data during this funding crisis, which would lead to inconclusive match attempts. >>> "Milwee, Michael (DOES)" <Michael.Milwee@xxxxxx> 7/24/2006 9:48 AM >>> might it be worthwhile to direct correspondence to either Rich Hobbie or DOL an ask them to comment on this and address what the future vision entails.--Mike Milwee, DC -----Original Message----- From: wiaattorneys-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:wiaattorneys-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Raymaker, Mindy (Sooni) Sent: Friday, July 21, 2006 1:46 PM To: Joseph.Bervid@xxxxxxxxxxxx; wiaattorneys@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: Brewer, Heidi; Holland, Gary; Whitfield, Duane Subject: [wiaattorneys] Re: Funding For WRIS Administration Stopped Has anyone determined the validity of the agreement as it stands now and what protections are in place for current sharing of data? I really don't understand the need for change. Does anyone know who the new entity would be? The letter raises the legal issue as to whether states can enter into other WRIS agreements since the NASWA agreement makes NASWA the sole source agent and prohibits separate agreements with other WRIS states? _____ An Equal Opportunity Employer/Program Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request for individuals with disabilities.
