Um, okay.
As much as I want to give in and just dish dirt ...
I thought about it and I would just say that you should be prepared to work
really, really hard. You will
be well compensated financially (probably), but you will work very, very
hard under sometimes adverse conditions.
Since I left Deutsch they have hired additional project managers, they have
installed a former
account director as Creative Director, and have staffed up considerably. So
my experience may not
be the current status quo. Let's just say that while I was working there I
was constantly meeting new and unexpected
challenges from many different places ...
Deutsch is, deservedly, one of the best ad agencies in the world, with a
roster of great clients.
And if you work there, you will be expected to work like you're playing in
the big leagues.
There are a lot of smart, driven people there who take advertising very
seriously and want to win at any cost.
Deutsch promotes people, they compensate well and I will readily admit that
I learned more in 6 months there than I would have imagined possible. Mostly
because those six months felt like 6 years.
I think that if you plan on working there, you need to know that the job
will take up a LOT of your life ...
Deutsch is a place for people who are extremely driven and focused.
That's my short version.
And anyway, I need to go get some dinner ....
