I've heard of a horrible implementation of the CD-ROM driver in PIO-Mode. It seems that this could lock the PC at dispatch for tens of msecs... So if you have a really misbehaving driver you can simply forget low latency... I'd wish microsoft would tag drivers that stay at dpc for longer than 10msec in the system-log to be able to find the culprit easily and either remove the driver or give the developer a kick in the but to improve his stuff ;-) Tobias -- TE-SYSTEMS GmbH - competence in e-communications.
