[wdmaudiodev] Vista audio capture sampling rate converter

I've just noticed that, with audio capture, when the audio engine is set to
44.1kHz and I'm recording at 48kHz, or vice versa, I'm seeing sampling rate
conversion artefacts at about -60dB. On playback, however, the SRC does a far
better job, with any artefacts well below -100dB.
Is this to be expected, and if so, is there any way to get Vista to use a
better quality SRC for audio capture?
