I have a question regarding the correct way to obtain the supported endpoint output modes on Vista. Our APO has different functionality depending on what output modes the endpoint supports. If it's only a stereo endpoint, it does things differently than if the endpoint supports 5.1 or 7.1 modes. As a result, our control panel extension needs to display different options to the user. How can the control panel extension (or the APO) find out whether an endpoint supports a particilar output mode without actually switching into that mode?
