I'm afraid you confuse dB levels with absolute sample values.
Logarithmic units (Bel and Decibel) were introduced for the only reason
that they ARE proportional to the perceived loudness.

"Perceived loudness varies approximately linearly with the logarithm
of the audio signal power".
