This is a bit of a myth that seems to have been applied to all use of KS. In fact, it is only true where the sound card doesn't expose hardware acceleration (either real hardware, or host-based "hardware acceleration"). As long as the driver supports the creation of multiple streams then KMixer gets its stream and each app using KS gets a stream too. So on such drivers, use of KS does not cause system sounds to be muted. ---- Peter Clare Technical Director, Sensaura Creative Labs Meadlake Place, Thorpe Lea Road, Egham, Surrey, TW20 8HE, United Kingdom Tel: +44 1784 476755 Email: pclare@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Web: http://www.creative.com/ & http://www.sensaura.com/ ForwardSourceID:NT00045C9A ****************** WDMAUDIODEV addresses: Post message: mailto:wdmaudiodev@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subscribe: mailto:wdmaudiodev-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=subscribe Unsubscribe: mailto:wdmaudiodev-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe Moderator: mailto:wdmaudiodev-moderators@xxxxxxxxxxxxx URL to WDMAUDIODEV page: http://www.wdmaudiodev.com/
