I am new to windows environment. Catching up on device driver work.
Starting with a KMDF HelloWorld driver. I am able to compile, deploy
the driver successfully through Visual Studio. I want to debug the
HelloWorld source. When I start debug thro' Visual studio, I get the
error "source code is not in this frame". Can I get some tips on how
to debug the driver source code using visual studio2015? I have the
Visual studio 2015 enterprize version (Trial) 14.0.23107.178 and
running on Windows10 Home edition. FYI, I tried most options on Goole
search for this error and nothing seem to work for me.
Appreciate if someone from this group can help me.
This is not the right group for this question. You should try the
driver development group on the MSDN Forums, or maybe the [ntdev]
mailing list. [ntdev] has a big set of driver experts, but we can be a
little hard on newbies.
You should also know that very few of the experienced driver developers
do driver debugging through Visual Studio. We just don't have enough
control. We use windbg to talk to the kernel debugger of the machine
When you do ask, you might mention whether you are using two separate
machines, or a virtual machine to run your debug target.
