Hi Frank,

I tried loading my device using the Microsoft USBAUDIO.SYS as my device is a
usb audio device. The default rendering endpoint selected is the headphone
endpoint instead of the speaker endpoint. I've checked that the form factor
property for the speaker endpoint is correct. This does not seem to be the
same as what you describe. Do you know what might the issue be? Thanks

The Vista heuristics should pick the speaker automatically. There may be
some problem in how your device is describing itself. For starters, you
should confirm that the form factor property (

property store is Speakers.

I have an audio device which exposes a SPDIF, speaker and headphone
endpoints as rendering endpoints. Currently, after a fresh installation, the
headphone endpoint is always set as the default endpoint by the OS. Is there
any way in which I can specify for the speaker endpoint to be selected as
the default endpoint instead?
