My problem is that the .inf file name is not unique, because it's the same for all physical identical devices.
The user will probably uses the the same .inf file to install all his devices. He don't want to edit it manually inbetween.
Therefore the devices will all get the same name (in Vista).

According to yann I could write a custom installation program with fixes it:

In my case I specify the present (currently
plugged) ones, but I guess just removing the flag: DIGCF_PRESENT would do
the job...

Because I'm I driver writer I would like try to fix the issue my the driver first.
But maybee there is another solution. Maybee the .inf file can do all the job?
