We have a USB Audio device which fails on some Windows Vista installations. Setupapi.dev.log says the following for the "USB Audio Device":
"Device not started: Device has problem: 0x0a: CM_PROB_FAILED_START"
According to Setupapi.dev.log (enabled verbose logging) everything seems to be going well in terms of driver installation.
The same device works fine on other Vista machines. It also works fine with XP on the same machines where it fails with Vista.
USBView indicates the device is responding and the descriptors that are returned are all as expected.
Note that this is a composite device, with a HID Class device in addition to the Audio Class. The HID part is working fine.
Is there any way to get the usbaudio.sys to show more information about why the device is failing?
Will a checked version of usbaudio.sys put anything on the debugger?
