Great. What was the solution?

The support ticket solved the problem. I have now passed all of the tests for
W11. Thanks for your help.

Thanks. If setup.exe launched but failed, the next step is to look at the setup
logs to see why it failed.
I don't know whether those logs are automatically gathered from the test system
and placed in the .hlkx. If so, you may be able to find them there. If not,
they should be available on the test machine in the locations described here:

I did submit a support ticket as well which included the error messages and the
HLKX file.

I think this is the same error listed in the first MS Forum l sent.

What do you see if you right-click the failing task "OSUpgrade"? Send me a
screenshot.
(Also, my previous suggestion to open a support ticket stands)

*smiles* well, I learned something new... I didn't know you can find log files
that way. Would you like me to send you the log files directly to your email?
Not sure you want me to attach the ZIP file to the forum.
I had a look through and couldn't see why the OSUpgrade is failing, just that
it did.

"Run Test" didn't run because OSUpgrade failed.

Hum... I was hoping for a better solution since the support ticket route is
very, very slow.
Here is a screen shot of the non-information given by the HLK.
[cid:image002.jpg@01D7DBA0.FDA15CE0]
No log file is shown and the Run Test is "cancelled" I think because OSUpgrade
failed. Not sure how the system can do an OSUpgrade when Windows 11 is already
at the latest version...

*scratches chin*
Open a support ticket and attach the .hlkx; that will get routed to the test
owner

I didn't see a test log or result file. It seems like the test didn't actually
run. Tried multiple times and the "Run Test" item has the "Cancelled" icon.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [wdmaudiodev] Windows 11 HLK Verify APOs Work After an OS
Upgrade
Hello All,
The only test that is failing for us on Windows 11 HLK is the "Verify APOs Work
After an OS Upgrade". I have found a couple of instances of people asking
questions about it on the MS Forums:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/561072/windows-11-hlk-verify-apos-work-after-an-os-upgrad.html<https://nam06.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.microsoft.com%2Fen-us%2Fanswers%2Fquestions%2F561072%2Fwindows-11-hlk-verify-apos-work-after-an-os-upgrad.html&data=04%7C01%7CMatthew.van.Eerde%40microsoft.com%7C535b864d06694ca8485c08d9a9fa76a8%7C72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7C1%7C0%7C637727717324923751%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C2000&sdata=LEQQ%2FVqFRBfmuL0CxsINj8filCCzcpThtam9MHQIMR8%3D&reserved=0>

with no responses from Microsoft.
Can Microsoft confirm that we can leave that test off the list and still pass
HLK certification? If not, how do we pass this test since it seems to not
really be doing anything on our test setup (just fails without actually testing
anything)?
Thank you,
David A. Hoatson
