The appointment supports an initiative to strengthen capacity in the field within the School of Life Sciences, and to promote collaboration with other academic units in ASU.
The successful candidate will be associated with the ecoSERVICES Group ASU, http://www.ecoservices.asu.edu/ . They will be required to teach graduate and undergraduate classes, conduct interdisciplinary research, seek external funding on their own or as part of a team, and publish in journals relevant to their areas of specialization, as well as perform appropriate university, professional, and community service.
Required qualifications are: an earned doctorate at the time of appointment in a relevant field; evidence of scholarly achievement demonstrated through publications in appropriate journals; evidence of capacity to work in an interdisciplinary setting demonstrated through collaborative research projects or publications; evidence of the potential to secure research funding demonstrated through grant applications or grants secured.
Desired qualifications are experience in (a) economic modeling of the interactions between socio-economic and ecological systems; (b) empirical applications; and (c) development of the implications of research for policy or management.
