Sorry to jump in, but just to through in my 2-cents:

I wrote a thing that's heavily based on the need to draw gratings quickly and
easily (also arbitrary drifting images and basic drifting dot patterns).
'PsychoPy' is also written in Python using OpenGL and is opensource. You can
check it out at
http://psychpy.sourceforge.net/
Its got less stuff than VisionEgg and obviously much less than PsychTB but its
amazingly simple and works well for psychophysics stimuli. If people get
involved I'll gradually build on further stuff to help run experiments like
psychTB has (like color calibration, experiment skeletons etc...).

Sorry, again, to step in Andrew!
All the best
Jon

Hi James,

I just added code to do 2D color gratings to the CVS repository. Check out the color_grating demo. Please let me know if these gratings work for you.

Cheers!
Andrew

Does anyone have some sample for displaying color gratings? I am an
experienced programmer with Matlab and Psychophysical toolbox, however I am
new to Python and the vision egg. I am trying to jump on board this open
source movement.
