okay. Let's distinguish two types of effects first.
Effects that Modify the signal, such as E Q, compression, can be inserted
directly on a track.
Effects that add something to the signal, such as delay chorus and reverb,
can also be inserted, but benefit from using aax sends, because you can send
multiple tracks do the same reverb delay or chorus.
Of course, everything is allowed and this is only a basic rule.
However, I don't understand what you use sub mix buses for. Sub mix buses,
are mostly used if you want to Process several tracks at a time.
For example, you could create a sub mix bus for your drum kit, and Route All
of your drum tracks to this bus, and then apply compression or EQ to it, or,
send it to a nice room reverb. Same for background vocals for example, if you
have multiple background vocal tracks, it is a good idea to create a sub mix
bus and route them there, and compress it.
But it is useless to create a mix bus for a singletrack.
