Found the instrument, but didn’t delete the patch. I had automation on that
track, but didn’t know it.

With respect tot he patch you loaded, do you know what VST it came from? Was
it Independence or something else? Seems to me, if, before you delete the
instrument, you go in with CTRL Windows Grav and scroll around, you should be
able to find that the currently loaded instrument is checked somewhere. But I
don’t think reloading will make any difference.

Hi JP,
What I met was that I selected the track, selected the volume by tabbing to it,
and when I heard the choices I then pressed enter to land on the volume
control. Also, your right. This was a virtual midi instrument, so I was using
the computer keyboard to change the volume. What happen was when I press enter
on the number I selected, the volume went down to nothing, no in between.
This project has nothing but virtual midi instruments on it, and I can normally
hear the volumes go down on all tracks except this one.
My next thought is to delete the instrument, but not it’s midi, then reload the
instrument. Strange thing is, I can’t remember the patch I loaded. It had
something to do with piano harmonics.

Hey James.
Changing volume on a midi track is different in several ways, as volume can be
changed by sending a midi control change to your midi instrument, or the audio
way, by actualy changing your track's audio volume, as if it was an audio
track. But keep in mind that this will only work if your track is assigned to a
virtu'al instrument, not if you are playing an external midi device.
You can access these different ways of changing the track's volume by holding
the alt key and typing the letter l 3 times.
Hope this helped.
Cheers,
JPR

Subject: [vipaudioaccess] changing a volume on a track
Hi all, on the project I sent to drop box a few weeks ago I found that one of
the tracks isn’t showing any volume change when selecting a value. It either
goes to nothing to very loud, no in-between.
Has anyone had any issues with this problem, and if so what was the fix?
