I have tried cycling input echo on and off several times but with no luck.

link to the midi to get audio. Once you've loaded a soft synth into the
audio effects you then need to switch on input echo, Shift+E twice.

Hello guys,
I am in desperate need of your help because I’m at my wits end. For what
ever reason my midi stoped recording about a month ago and for the life of me
I can’t figure out why. I frequently bounce back-and-forth from ProTools to
sonar so it is possible I am forgetting to do something. Below is a list of
steps that I use in order to prepare for recording midi.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled necessary drivers before performing this
list.
1. Open a new project
2. Insert a soft synth such as dimension pro or session drummer.
3. Ensure that the midi source track input is set to my controller. in my
case it is MM6 Omni.
4. Ensure that the synth output track’s output is set correctly.
Even though the input is set correctly for whatever reason sonar is not
receiving any data from my keyboard. I get no play back from the synth nor
will it record.
I have also tried the above steps with my electronic drum set with no
success. After the last time I was successfully able to record midi I
temporarily connected my macki universal pro in order to complete a mix. I
have since disconnected the surface. If anyone has any ideas I would much
appreciate it.
