The file that contains the recent file list is SAM_X64.ini, but you can’t skip
this file I don’t think...it’s all down to what changes are made by a sighted

Projects, and if this particular file could be skipped. Tell me about BAT

I never knew that the scripts were designed to only show one track at a time.
I thought there was a way to show more, but maybe that is only in the Track
manager and Object manager where control+T shows how many tracks are visible.
I don’t even know what my wife did to show multiple tracks on the screen at
once.

I don't see why it shouldn't work. I already have my own INI files in a
folder so that if Samplitude changes anything, I can reload mine instantly. So
if you have two sets of files, one with your name, and one with your wife's
name, all you need to do is paste The ones you need in Samplitude's folder.

The reason I let my wife run Samplitude during interviews and the reason
she likes to have all tracks visible at once is so that she can monitor the
waveforms to make sure we are recording. We’ve caught issues this way before.
I guess if we have to keep swapping around ini files I will. I actually
created some bat files to do that automatically, but I would like to have this
just work.

Here’s a further idea, why not load up a second instance of Samplitude, if
possible, which can be configured for sighted use. This would negate the need
to keep loading up ini files.

Here’s a radical idea, may be our sighted friends and partners need to
adjust to how we work, and not the other way round. Steve has developed the
scripts in a way which means Samplitude has to be set in a particular way.
This is a limitation set down by how the scripts work. Trying to work outside
of these parameters will cause the scripts to stop working at their optimum.

I am not a scripter, but I suppose your situation is not compatible with
the way Samplitude script work.
I would suggest the following.
1.. Locate the folder where your Samplitude INI files are, create a
shortcut for this folder, and place it on your desktop so you can access it
quickly.
2.. Copy the seven INI files this folder contains for each workflow, you
using the scripts as normal, and you doing an interview with your wife having
to see the four tracks. In each case, paste them in a conveniently placed and
named folder.
3.. Each time you will need one of these workflows, open One of these,
copy its contents to your clipboard, and paste it to your Samplitude INI files
folder, the one you created a shortcut for.
I tell you, it Will take you 30 seconds to change your workflow in
Samplitude, and I don't
see anything quicker.

back and try to use the scripts to edit the interview, the scripts don’t seem
to work.
Question #1: What is the best solution for this? I’ve been copying back
my ini files after each time she uses Samplitude but it seems there ought to be
a better way.
Question #2: I’ve been trying to create a template that shows all tracks
on the screen. I couldn’t find any keystrokes in the keystrokes documentation
that seemed to be able to help me here. What I was looking for is:
a.. A way to show more tracks. And/or control which tracks are visible
at the same time in the VIP
b.. A way for the scripts to tell me which tracks are visible. The
Control+T keystroke only seems to work in the track manager but not the VIP, so
I can’t tell what is showing in the VIP.
