It's not in the firmware. It's in the way the driver was developed and
implemented in Windows. It works the same way in Sonar and Samplitude,
therefore we know it's not in the DAW. I think this is one for Tim
Adnitt, And I'm frankly surprised no one has talked to him about this
yet.

The question is can it really be remapped if it is using the Mackie--
protocol? If not maybe we could request that feature, but who knows if
NI would want to update that through firmware.

Hi Steve,
Yes as far as I'm aware due to the lack of true host integration, the
buttons you mention currently do little for us, certainly in the case of
DAW's like Logic and Garage Band the up and down buttons are used to
navigate tracks, there is also a loop button which is part of the main
transport cluster.
Here is a link to an explanation on the N.I. website which has
information regarding the varying levels of integration of each popular
DAW.

Ok, I'm probably gonna look a right arse here, but here goes :). Would
I be correct in thinking that the left/right/back and down keys are
all but redundant for us on the S keyboard?
I'm thinking of having a crack at mapping them to more Samplitude
functions, so that I can manage say up/down arrowing the tracks and
mapping undo, as I now have the play/stop/record functions working.
So, this would make the whole process of recording etc a breeze
without having to have the Pc keyboard sat on my lap. Thoughts please?
steve.

Kevin, PSML, pissed myself laughing. Phil told me that my question was
