Vincent,

yes, JAWS can often have trouble with large word documents. (This problem has been going on for years.)

hello again.

after saving a PDF document into a plain text document and then trying to read it in ms word. its not reading properly. when I arrow down through the page jaws takes about five or ten seconds to start reading and every time I arrow down it wont go down straight away to the next line. its a 350 page document. would this slow jaws down reading a big document. is there any way I can fix this please. many thanks.

regards
Vincent

There is a software you can purchase for about 30 pounds (I think) and that will read out your PDF files. Are you aware that if you wish you can convert to text files. To do this you go to File and Export and then enter on that and choose text or plain text. You will then be asked for a name just like whenyou are saving a file and you can choose your location also in the same way. I am using Adobie 8 Professional so I may be slightly incorrect when I told you to enter on Export. It may be something else on the standard Adobie but I think as you go down the list it will be obvious to you. Now a disadvantage of converting to text files which I find is that obviously tables do not convert so it depends on the kind of PDF file it is. You may not have Tables in your files. I also have something called PDF Creator which I purchased at PC World some time back and it converts to Word. Hope this helps.
