Yes I understand that Bert but if I have read e-mails on my phone and go to my
iPod, they go to Thrash and in Thrash I can press Edit and if there are 50
e-mails there I can highlight all of them in tern and then delete all at once
by pressing the delete button which comes up after I have pressed Edit, it is
dimmed until e-mails are selected and then it becomes active and I can do a
block delete.

Eleanor,
before you open any emails you can scroll down and delete emails with out
having to open them. this goes for text messages.

hello Joe,
you don't say what email client you have, but normally you have two choices
, swipe down to delete or default, the latter allows you to open the email.
there is unfortunately no way to delete multi emails.
