Oh right Tony, I do not have a problem with regard to installing software, just surprised that there is a CD with this embosser. George and Jackie I am sure can help. George suggested Jackie but Jackie could not answer my query so I will contact Sight and Sound on monday. thing is Jackie said to me it is possible to network the embosser so that I can have it in a different room to the computer and not have to put up with the dreadful noise then when it is brailling. Now all I wanted to know about really was loading the paper. Take your point about putting it in from the front then but I am puzzled what are the 2 roller bars for at the back? Do I have do do something with them? Strange how they are where one can feel them easily. They must surely have some function.

I didn't install the software myself but think that it was easy enough to install though! 

Just follow the prompts, tabbing or 'alt N' to 'next and all that.
You know while I think of it, George Bell & Jackie Cairns are great on this, as I discovered from another list where they were able to asisst me with a few queries of that which I needed resolving!
Put in the paper from front of machine, by lifting the lid of the machine and then the two small clamps on either side.
A tip is to affix say the left side first before attaching the right side of the page.
Probably best too to leave DBT to it's default for now at any rate till you get used to it! 

Now where was I?
Go in to Duxbury, hit control and O to open say your files, then control I for import. Select 'standard when the choice is offered. 

Control E for emboss and your fluyin!

Don't really know any more on that on it I'm afraid!

             I had a look a calibre.org.uk as recommended by Flor to
Ger . Book Reading is one of the joys of my life and I use
Audion CDs from Cork City Library and they were good enough to open a
branch near me which is very helpful. Staff in the Library are very
helpful and read titles to me and recommend reading and request loan
books for me . They have not moved to MP3 books,which are used  in the
children's section and in some Dublin libraries. I would be very
interested to hear other experiences on this topic .ie what u use ,where

www.calibre.org.uk
