hello friends, i really thought stuart lawler answered this question some time ago, perhaps i'm wrong, apologies if i am, but to convert tapes to cd professionally and quickly one needs a sound editing programme, such as sound forge or goldwave, these can be somewhat expensive and require some dedicated time to study, they are blind friendly, i use sound forge six, which is not the most up to date version of the programme but it does all i want it to do, but as my father used to say, [god rest him] "if what you do suits you, keep doing it" therefore if connecting your recorder to your computer and playing the tapes that way, and you are happy with it, that's fine, albeit time consuming but also, if i can help contact me off list if you like, take care, travel safely, joe.,
