There is also NVDA which is free and good from what I hear.

Hi all, I was thinking of trying out system access screen reader on the laptop I just bought as I find the 40 minute mode of Jaws to limiting and it is very expensive to buy it. I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know if system access is simular to how jaws works and where I could download a demo of it from as I can only find an option to buy it.
