Hi Nial,

Go into the "view menu, with alt + V".

Now  down arrow to current view and right arrow.

Next, while in here make sure that "messages"  are checked.

If this option isn't checked then press the enter key on it to make it so.

After this close outlook and then re-open it again and see if it helps.
