Hi Sean
now i've just taken my melatonin so i'm dozey. but have you tried to connect
your caller ID into the box for the landline.
I'm assuming when you connected into the brodband router that connection was
disconnected but one never knows until one tries.
thankfully i refused to make the change as my router is in the bedroom and not
a hope will i have a cordless phone in my bedroom.
yours
a sleepy Jackie

Ahoy Eleanor
I have a talking I D as you describe which I purchased from the NCBI Shop in
Kilkenny some years ago now.
I am with Vodafone and very recently I changed to Broadband Voice as advised
by Vodafone, who incidentally very kindly supplied me with a cordless phone.
However, since then my talking ID does not work, which I find most annoying
as I found the talking ID to be a fantastic device, as it stored the date and
time of a number of calls I would have received.
Voice mail is ok when the caller leaves a message, but one is left in the
dark (smile) if they don't.
Has anyone got an alternative please?
Yours Aye
Seán

Really Joe. can you describe what these are like? I used to own one in the UK
and it suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. I sent it to somebody
to have it tested and it worked fine for that person. and return to myself
it's still would not work. unfortunately I was unable to obtain another
talking ID Device in the UK and opted instead for a Panasonic cordless phone
which has in-built caller ID. The device I originally had I had purchased
through the RNIB. it was a small box like device with a speaker which plugged
directly into the land line itself, and also plugged into the phone. it was
operated by three triple a batteries. I understood is has been obtained from
Canada by the RNIB and had cost me £30 some years ago!
